Description

Texas History students will read 3 accounts of the Runaway Scrape from the Texas Revolution and answer 17 questions (including comparing and contrasting the accounts). The answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub!

Sample questions include:
--What rumor was spreading? How did people react to it in “our camp” versus in Gonzales?
--Identify 3 challenges the civilians faced on the road. Were they overcome? If so how and why, or, why not?
--Describe what led to Taylor saying, “humanity in its most exalted nature” and rewrite that phrase in your own words to demonstrate understanding.
--In Terrell’s account, what contradictions did she see when news of the Alamo came?
--How did Texans keep pushing along, even when encountering multiple challenges on the road?
