Description
Texas History students will read and analyze the public Treaty of Velasco from the end of the Texas Revolution by answering 13 questions and completing 2 tasks (one academic and one creative). This would be great for a sub and the answers are included where appropriate.
Sample questions include:
--What did Santa Anna agree to in the first article? Why do you think that was deemed important enough to be written first?
--Inferring from the historical context, what is the most significant phrase in the third article, and why?
--How might the slaves have felt being referred to as “private property” and how did that classification contrast with what Texans were fighting for?
--In what ways could the 6th article have been enforced? What would have been a reasonable repercussion, or consequence, were it violated?
