Description
Do you need a new way to review the ERAS of early US History? I needed something fun and active that was different. Enter US History CUP STACKING RACES!
- In this review lesson, students stack cups labeled with the titles of the the eras of Early American History (you print the labels out from this power point and tape them on the cups) to race! Students will see an image (from this power point), then they quickly discuss in groups what the image is and what era of U.S. History it belongs to. Then you say "go" and they stack cups in towers with the answer on top.
What's included:
- EDITABLE power point
- Titles of the Eras (you print out and tape on the bottoms of cups)
- 25 images are included with the answer that "flies in". You can certainly add or change the images if you wish!
7 Eras include:
- Exploration and Colonization
- Revolution
- Constitution
- New Republic
- Westward Expansion
- Civil War
- Reconstruction
How many cups to do you need?
- 7 cups per group of students. So if you have 30 kids in your class, I would put kids in groups of 3 or 4. So 7 cups x 7 groups - 49 cups. I would get more just in case a cup cracks etc.
- I also suggest you get at least 2 colors of cups. This allows you to stack the cups in your cabinet in alternate colors.
- You also need tape. I used clear packing tape.
