Vocabulary Word of the Day/ Week

Our products are designed to accompany fun holidays throughout the year, but you will find many of them work with common core standards as well. 

This activity was originally inspired by the Holiday Big Word Day, April 21

 This activity pack contains learner worksheets in 3 different colors as well as black/grey scale. You can choose to use a Word of the Week or a Word of the Day. There are 200 Different words, first arranged by week, then arranged as printable cards to be used one at a time. The words can be used with learners anywhere from 3rd grade and up, depending on their learning goals. 

Learners will need to use a classic book dictionary, or online dictionary to identify the part of speech, synonyms, antonyms and definition for the word. The worksheet then asks them to define the word in their "own words" and to write a sentence. Finally there is room for a picture. Some of these items can be challenging, depending on the word. Guidance from a mentor is recommended.
