Description
This lab is great to use when studying anatomy, especially the skeletal system. It requires very little equipment as well. The best measuring tool is a cloth measuring tape often found in the sewing section of stores. However, you can also use pieces of yarn. Simply have the students measure with the yarn and then using a ruler or yard stick measure the lengths.
The results create an interesting discussion and can even be used for studying forensic science. In my experience using this lesson, students love being able to find out their proportions. It will take approximately 30 minutes from start to finish.
