Human Body Systems Research Project:

Students will take on jobs-Doctor, Dietician, Integrator, Physical Therapist and Quizzer to learn about different human body systems!

Assign students which human body system you would like them to research using Seesaw links,google slide links OR print packets for in class project

•Students can complete individually OR you can divvy out the parts and make it a group project

•Present these projects and have students dress up as specific job (Doctor, Physical therapist, Dietician, Integrator, Quizzer (teacher)).

•If doing in class can pull books from library on specific body systems and/or use websites for research

 

Severe Weather Project:

The students will enjoy researching about Thunderstorms, Blizzards, Drought, Tornadoes and Hurricanes through this weather project. They will utilize given websites if researching and completing online OR utilize websites and books in the classroom!

Seesaw and Google Links provided for project for Distance Learning!

Rubric provided for grading for you to choose point allocations.

Students will research Physical Characteristics, cause/effect, predictions, water cycle connection, occurrence and safety of the severe weather!

Distance Learning Science Activities:

6 Activities that incorporate 3rd grade NGSS Standards.

Activity 1, 2, 3 and 4 are all about direction words and animal tracking. The students will create a treasure map for a family member to follow based on their direction sentences, checkout a real live website that tracks ocean animals and so much more!

Activity 1, 2, 3,4: Forces/Friction 3-PS2-1 Motion and Stability: Forces and Interactions Plan and conduct an investigation to provide evidence of the effects of balanced and unbalanced forces on the motion of an object. 3-PS2-2 Motion and Stability: Forces and Interactions Make observations and/or measurements of an object’s motion to provide evidence that a pattern can be used to predict future motion.

Activity 5 and 6 are weather related where the students will become a meteorologist and also research a city of their choice making a bar graph and answering graphing questions!

Activity 5 & 6: Weather 3-ESS2-1 Earth's Systems Represent data in tables and graphical displays to describe typical weather conditions expected during a particular season. 3-ESS2-2 Earth's Systems Obtain and combine information to describe climates in different regions of the world.

 


Distance Learning Biography/Autobiography Research Project:

Students will utilize online biography databases and EPIC! books to pick a famous person to research. They will be working on finding interesting facts about the person, character traits to describe them, timeline of events, why they are famous and so much more! Then they will create an autobiography about themselves using similiar organizers! Finally they will compare themselves to their famous person.

We had created a beautiful foldable project based on note taking, boxes and bullets (main idea with details) Who Would Win Project. Super fun and engaging for the students! Unfortunately we are now stuck at home and have to do E Learning with our students. Here is the link to the project we created, that I have added an E Learning component to. Students can choose a category of animals to battle and research the animal facts for different categories all online! You can either use it and print it in packets for parents to pick up
