In this activity, students will close read and analyze excerpts of the colonists Petition to King George III to answer text-dependent question in order to determine if colonial claims or grievances could be resolved in a manner other than war.
This activity includes:

This activity can be completed in four ways:
1. Individual Document Analysis - I like to assign the document as a homework (or for a flipped classroom) and then host a Socratic seminar on the fifth question the following day.
2. Pair or Small Group Document Analysis
