Atlantic Charter and Tehran Conference Primary Source Analysis

Students read and analyze excerpts from the Atlantic Charter and the end result of the Tehran Conference during World War 2 (WW2). There are 16 questions between the two documents. An answer key is included where appropriate and this would work for a sub!

Sample questions include: 
--How are the first and second items connected? 
--Rewrite the third item in your own words. What do you think Churchill or Roosevelt’s reaction would be if the chosen form of government was not a democratic one?
--Inferring from the historical context, why were the fourth and fifth items imperative to include? Which was more important for immediate post-war recovery and why?
--Why are armaments referred to as a “crushing burden?”
--Why do they think this will be a lasting peace?
--Identify and explain 2 challenges the three leaders might face in achieving this goal.
--Given the focus on peace in 1941, how is the emphasis on force in 1943 justifiable?
