Description
This bundle contains a series of three biographies on individuals associated with the Corps of Discovery.
The biographies can be either printed directly OR readily converted to digital activities using Google Slides.
The first biography traces the life of Thomas Jefferson, including his role in both the formation of political parties in the United States and the purchase of the Louisiana Territory in 1803.
The second biography focuses on the leadership of Meriwether Lewis and William Clark as they led the Corps of Discovery across the Louisiana Territory to the Pacific Ocean in 1804-05.
The third biography addresses the role the Shoshone woman Sacagawea played in leading the Corps of Discovery to the Pacific.
Each biography includes a series of questions based on the reading.
In using this in my own classroom, students are encouraged to:
1. Number the paragraphs
2. Read the biography
3. Highlight answers in the reading
4. Use complete sentences
The answer key demonstrates these steps.
Purchased separately, the biographies would total $6.75; I am offering them as a bundle for $6.00. I am sure you will find these a valuable addition to your curriculum.
You can also purchase these biographies as part of a Mini-Lesson - a video guide to Ken Burns' documentary on the Corps of Discovery is included. Finally, you can purchase these biographies as part of a general series I have posted on Amped Up Learning: Biographies in American History.
