Description
Learning the bones from a 2-D picture can be difficult but purchasing disarticulated bones can be expensive! It took me a few years to find materials that were moldable but inexpensive enough to create a project that would allow a full classroom to participate.
This download includes 4 pages of step by step instructions with pictures on how to fully create a bone from scratch as well as a shortened one page instructional sheet for the students. All but one of the materials used can be purchased from the Dollar store, and the other is from a craft store. I was able to keep the cost to around $3 per bone.
This is a great hands-on activity for the skeletal system and can be expanded to help students learn the bony landmarks or partnered together to create the joints of the body.
