What: Inferring is the ability to understand text when all the information is not specifically written. Growing as and becoming a successful reader includes the ability to infer.
When: Pre, During, and Post Reading.
Where: Whole or Small Group
Why: A reader needs to draw conclusions based on the information the author does provide and then make an educated guess based on what is read and what they already know.
How: Color-coded teacher task cards with six different activities, Teacher Task Cards, and PDF’s. Each strategy has a brief explanation, directions, space for your own notes, as well as a sample of how to incorporate the strategy within any content area.
