Description
God Made the Earth | Days of Creation from Genesis 1
Genesis 1:1
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
This handout reviews the week of Creation with kids. They will read Genesis 1 and record what God made on each day. Then they will draw a picture of each day's creation.
What did God make on day 1?
(Day and Night)
What did God make on day 2?
(Sky and Oceans)
What did God make on day 3?
(Land, Plants, and Trees)
What did God make on day 4?
(Moon, Sun, and Stars)
What did God make on day 5?
(Birds and Fish)
What did God make on day 6?
(Man and Animals)
What did God do on day 7?
(He rested)
Students will find and review the answers from Genesis 1. Then, they will draw a picture of what God created on each day. This is a good review for elementary aged students. It's a good supplement for Sunday school lessons about creation and how God made the whole world.
These worksheets are part of a larger Creation Lap Book. This would be a great lesson for Earth Day. Earth Day is a great time to remind students that God made the Earth and everything in it.
Creation Lap Book
In the Creation Lap Book, students will review the days of creation and read about the new Earth in Revelation 21 and 22. The students will be asked to reflect for themselves what the New Earth may look like as they write a small paragraph about it.
Students will look up verses in the Bible to match them with the given verse references. These references remind the students that God made the entire world and nothing is too big for God. God is our maker and our helper.
The first page of the lap book also has a map that the kids will identify where they live, including which continent they live on and which country they live in. God knows where each person lives and planned it that way.
The back of the lap book has a place for the kids to draw events from the week of Creation.
The creation lap book will remind the students that God made the whole Earth and that someday God will create a new Earth where there is no pain or crying or tears. Praise God!
This works well as a Christian Earth Day Activity for Christian elementary school students, homeschoolers, or a Sunday School lesson. It is geared for 3rd to 6th graders.
