Description

Health Class Discussion Corner | Violence

Promote student engagement and get your students participating in discussion about violence and violence prevention with this class activity "Discussion Corners"

Just like the game Four Corners, questions are projected for students to read, then they will go to a corner if they "Strongly Agree, Agree, Disagree, or Strongly Disagree" Students will collaborate and contribute to high level discussions in each corner. Challenge your students thinking and reasoning by having them defend their answers.

Use these questions as an opening lesson to your violence or violence prevention units. I use this every year with my high school students and they love this lesson because there is no writing, they get out of their seats, and they get to have voice! This activity will engage and motivate your students!

**You will receive a a PDF with force copy link to a Google Slideshow**

Google File Includes:

  • Google Slide show with 10 questions about violence and violent behavior
  • PDF of printable ""Strongly Agree, Agree, Undecided, Disagree, or Strongly Disagree"
  • Instructions on how to use this activity in class

Students will be able to:

  • Discuss external influences and societal messages that impact attitudes about violence
  • Compare and contrast external influences and societal messages that impact attitudes about violence
  • Compare and contrast situations and behaviors that may constitute violence.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use interpersonal communication skills to portray an idea
