Description

During the Communication section of my Health Science classes, I would use Rebus Puzzles to challenge my students' ability to see a nonsensical written phrase and turn it into a phrase that was comprehensible. It was a great tool for teaching about the obstacles and communication barriers in Healthcare. I decided to take it a step further and create some of my own that had a medical theme.

This download includes 18 Rebus puzzles for your students to solve. You can two options that come with the download including:

2 worksheets with 9 rebus puzzles on each (Key included)
A PowerPoint with all 18 puzzles (click on YouTube video preview to see a sampling)

I've used these in different ways- as a warm-up, fun integrated activity or a game. It was great at sparking conversation on the challenges of communication.

My students really enjoyed this and this was a great opener to our communication activity. They were begging me to find more puzzles like this. Definitely a keeper.
