This project bundle has everything you need to assess your students understanding of both the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

The bundle includes PowerPoints that present the Constitution and the Bill of Rights in student-friendly terms. After explaining both the structure and the purposes of each document, the presentations lead students through the articles and first ten amendments, allowing multiple opportunities for teachers to provide real-life examples.

Each PowerPoint is paired with a graphic organizer that allows students to write down the main ideas behind the articles and amendments. Once the presentations are complete, viola! Students have user-friendly reference sheets for each document.

Students will then use the reference sheets (and any other resources that might be provided by the instructor) to construct a poster based on either the Constitution or the Bill of Rights (or both). The guidelines lead students through step-by-step.

I have also created project rubrics for teachers to assess completed posters. These rubrics can be distributed to the students ahead of time to use as a "checklist" and ensure that their work meets standards.

Finally, for those students averse to drawing, each project includes alternative assessments.

I have used these projects for years with my own students. They thoroughly enjoy the presentation and examples, and their completed posters are the stars of my Open House! I know you will love it, too!

The PowerPoints are saved in Office 97-2003. The graphic organizers, guidelines, and rubrics have been uploaded as PDF files.
