--Identify an immediate challenge facing Atlanta’s residents, and why evacuating south was less than ideal.
--Why did they consider not sending the letter?
--How do the authors reference patriotism and honor in their appeal?
--Write a contextually appropriate synonym, or definition, for “arrayed.”
--Explain why Sherman asserts that Atlanta was in a way living two different lives. Why wasn’t that sustainable?
--Explain the future Sherman sees for America should division be accepted.
--In which text would this best fit in and why: “You might as well appeal against the thunder-storm as against these terrible hardships of war.
--How does Sherman most and least effectively respond to Calhoun, Rawson, and Wells?
