This 60 minute lesson plan is designed to help middle students answer the following questions:
• When did slavery come to the colonies?
• How did slavery affect the colonies?
• Why did the colonies need slave labor?
• Where were many of the slaves coming from?
This lesson will provide teachers with a warm-up activity, guided practice activity, lesson extension, and project ideas.
The main activity of the lesson will require for students to take Cornell notes and complete a writing activity.
