Description

Texas History students will learn about the early inhabitants of Texas with a 10 slide presentation, graphic organizer, and stations activity. The presentation has discussion questions and introduces the Caddo, Karankawa, Coahuiltecan, and Atakapa. The graphic organizer accompanies the PowerPoint and has 3 questions.

The stations activity introduces the Plains and Puebloan tribes--the Jornada, Tigua, Jumano, Tonkawa, Apache, Comanche, and Kiowa--with 3 brief readings and 22 questions. There is also a map for students to complete and 7 images which accompany those 3 stations, or they can be used as a 4th station (suggestions ideas for implementation are included).

The presentation is included as a PowerPoint and PDF for your convenience. A teacher information page and the answers are included where appropriate.
