Description

Students will read and analyze excerpts 7 sources from the French and Indian War by answering 31 questions and completing a task for the Join or Die political cartoon. This can be assigned a complete packet, divided into stations, set up as a gallery walk, or used as a jigsaw. The answers are included where appropriate so this could work with a sub.

Sample questions include:
--How does Canassatego show that Native Americans value the land more than whites do, or realize?
--Identify the additional incentive Dinwiddie wants to give volunteers.
--For what reason does Washington think the Native Americans ridicule the French soldiers?
--In this context, what does “immediately dispatched” mean?
--What position does Franklin believe the colonies have in the greater British empire?
--Which side of the war does it seem like Minavavana supported and why?
