Description

Students will read and analyze excerpts from a speech by Attorney General Palmer regarding his crusade against "Red" in the 1920s by answering 17 questions. They will then complete a short writing prompt looking at the Red Scare from two other points of view and analyze 6 political cartoons according to two prompts.

This would be great for a sub and the answers are included where appropriate!

Sample questions include:
--What did Palmer mean by saying, “the menace of communism?”
--List 3 societal foundations being burnt by revolutionary fervor.
--Explain what Palmer’s information told him about American communism.
--In what ways were Palmer’s methods and actions seemingly protected?
--How does Palmer respond to those who question his actions against “Reds” and the deportations of merely suspected radicals?
