The Roosevelt Corollary Text and Image Analysis

Students read excerpts from the Roosevelt Corollary, answer 15 questions of varying degrees of difficulty, and analyze 6 images according to 5 prompts. The answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub! 

Sample questions include:
--In your own words, what is the aim of “this Nation?”
--Explain how some types of peace could be undesirable.
--Using context clues, define tarry.
--Explain what Roosevelt believes would happen if civilized nations disarmed themselves. Why might they have disarmed themselves in the first place?
--How does TR state that the United States is not interested in imperial ventures? Inferring from prior knowledge of events just before and just after this speech was delivered, do you think people believed him, why or why not? 
--In what concrete way does Roosevelt defend America's actions in the Western Hemisphere?
