Description

Students will read 4 excerpts representing different points of view on the Whiskey Rebellion and answer 38 questions. They will then complete 3 comprehension tasks and analyze 3 images. The sources are excerpts from the writings of Hamilton (2), George Washington, and William Findley. The answers are included and this would be great for a sub!

Sample questions include:
--Explain how the opposition escalated its methods, and why.
--Describe the type of person who might have been in attendance.
--Which amendment could the the opposition have used in their defense and why?
--In your own words, what does Hamilton recommend in his last paragraph and why?
--Provide a contextually appropriate synonym, or definition, for conciliate. 
--Rewrite Hamilton’s 4th paragraph in your own words to demonstrate understanding.
--Explain the two paths a government could find itself on per Hamilton. Which does he prefer and why?
--Does Findley think the Whiskey Rebellion was justified, why or why not?
--Pulling from what you have learned about the founding fathers, which of these excerpts would Jefferson have most agreed with and why?
