Description
Who doesn't love a good old card game? Adding learning games to your curriculum is a great way for learners to practice skills you've taught. Not only that, but it also enhances their social and emotional skills as well. This card game, DOLLARS & CENTS, focuses on counting money, making change, and showing monetary values in more than one way. Designed for either one-on-one or small groups, this hands-on learning activity will have your learners practicing necessary life skills in a fun, engaging way. There are activities in 2 different skill levels and 1 follow-up activity. Learners will use their cards as a dollar amount and then count play money to show the amount in monetary value. Then comes the challenge: using different dollar bills and coins to show the original amount. In the follow-up activity, learners will use their DOLLAR & CENTS amount to calculate change from a larger amount of money. PLEASE NOTE: there are supplies that need to be provided for this activity (playing cards and play money).
