Description

I love creating holiday themed lessons and activities.  Not only is it a fun way to celebrate the season, but is is great at sneaking in some learning in the process. I've even used some of these activities for HOSA meetings!

You can purchase each of these separately, but I thought bundling them would be a great way to have them all and save some money in the process! I have hyperlinked each of the lessons so you can get a more detailed description!

The bundle includes the following:

CHRISTMAS:  Perfect for the Holidays, these activities will provide a lot of seasonal fun AND learning! Both activities merge Medical facts and learning with Holiday themes. Options for both "in-classroom" and "distance learning" are available.

Activities includes:

  • "Christmas Trivia: Healthcare Edition":  This 10-question trivia game explores the medical side of Christmas and the holidays. With a little luck and a little critical thinking, students will answer multiple choice questions to learn facts and stats. Comes as both a PowerPoint for in-classroom play or as a Google Form, for independent play from any electronic device. *Video preview available to see a sneak peek!
  • "Diagnosing Santa": This 6-page packet puts your students as the role of the doctor and Santa as their patient. The case-study format will walk them through diagnosing some of Santa's conditions due to his very festive lifestyle. The packet can either be printed or students can fill out the PDF electronically

HALLOWEEN: What a great Holiday to bring in anatomy and medicine!

Activities include:

  • "Monster Maladies": Want to inject a little Halloween fun into your classroom with this activity? Students will research the medical term/conditions/symptoms and match them to the monster! Download includes an answer key!
  • "Halloween Trick or Truth": Have a little fun with some random Halloween medical facts! The game includes 12 "Trick" or "Truth" questions for your students to use their best guess to decide if it is fact or false! Explanations included on the revealing slide.

Valentine's Day:  Love is in the air and science is all around!

Activities include:

  • "My Medical Valentine":  Dr. Valentine has decided to convert some common Valentine's phrases into medical terms he's more comfortable with. This worksheet activity allows students to have a little holiday-themed fun while reviewing medical terminology and conditions.
  • "The Science of Love":  Science is all around us- even when it come to LOVE! This 10 question trivia game is a great fun activity to get your students thinking! The download comes with a PowerPoint Game and Video Instructions on how to play!

ST. PATRICK'S DAY: It is always fascinating how the science of medicine can make it's way into so much of our culture, and St. Patrick's Day is no exception!

Activities include:

  • "Luck of the Irish Quiz Game": 10 fun St. Patty's Day questions all with a tie-in to the field of Medicine and Health Care (with some lucky points added in for fun!). Students will use their reasoning skills to make lucky guesses while also gaining points for just pure luck.
  • "Lucky Diagnosis": Case Study for diagnosing Lucky, the Leprechaun. Students will first find out their leprechaun doctor name and then do a work-up on their Leprechaun patient, Lucky McGogo. This 6-page case study blends fun and investigation for students to advance their medical knowledge (no prior knowledge needed).
