Fun Review of the Parts of Speech

Spring is here! And so is a much needed Spring Break. This fun Spring Break grammar game will have your kids rolling with laughter as they create silly stories about a Spring Break trip with their families. This is the perfect activity for an afternoon before spring break or anytime you want a fun way to review the parts of speech with your kids.

Example from the spring break activity:

Spring Break happens every (insert unit of time) and we get a whole week off of (insert noun). I love spring (insert noun). Sometimes, we just stay home and (insert verb) or watch (insert plural noun). This year, my (insert noun) is taking a trip to (insert place).

Kids will review nouns, adjectives, verbs, and adverbs while creating these funny stories.

Directions:

It's best to play this parts of speech game in pairs. One person asks his/her partner to name something in the appropriate category. That person writes down what the other person says in the appropriate blank. When they are finished, they read the story out loud to their friend. Take turns and switch roles so each person gets a chance to be in each role.

Included in this download are 2 pages: one is the story page and the other is the category page to fill in the blanks without seeing the story first.
